Pennies for Our Thoughts
Personal writing truly opens a can of worms. As young writers, our years have been limited, but our experiences provide infinite stories. Through these experiences we have gained knowledge and felt a multitude of emotions that bring our writing about personal exposures to a whole other level. By writing about ourselves, we as the author have the advantage of using personal perspectives, opinions, and emotions in the story or narrative. The in-depth personal detail that an autobiographical point of view allows is what makes personal writing unique. Because of the connection to the author, personal writing is some of the most touching and relatable forms of literature. It is important not only for that, but for giving a writer the ability to express their emotions and find meaning in their past that they might not be able to in critical, editorial, or creative pieces. Here on Pennies for our Thoughts, us von Wordites hope to display the benefits that this connection provides for our writing and share them with the technological world. Here you can find narratives, text-to-self connections, stories, and memoirs.
